As you most likely know, the Victorian government has reinstated lockdown for at least the next week. As such, the Gym, Library, Tennis Courts and Function Room are all closed again.
These facilities will be reopened when they are legally allowed to.
After more consultation with MICM and MBM and due to the fact that residential gyms are still a relative grey area it has been decided that the Gym, Library and Function Room will reopen. For these facilities to remain open, we need to be certain that all residents using these facilities will do the right thing and abide by Covid guidlines. this includes using the check in QR Codes, observing capacity limits and making sure to clean areas after use. For the gym, we are also asking all users to make sure they have completed the Covid marshal training on the government website. This way we can cover Willsmere and say we are doing everything possible to ensure a safe environment.

There have been a lot of queries about whether our gym is allowed to open. The CoM have been dealing closely with MICM and MBM and taking advice from them as they collectively manage hundreds of properties around Victoria. MICM and MBM have been dealing closely with DHHS to find out what is allowed and isn't allowed during this current stage of semi-lockdown.
The advice we have is that our gym is to remain closed for the moment. We were able to open it earlier last year as we had asked gym users to complete the covid marshal training and regiseter as a covid marshal. This year things are slightly different and we need a covid check in marshal for the gym to open so we can't rely on the previous process.
The CoM are very keen to be able to open the gym and we are exploring any possibilities that may work. We understand that major gyms such as Fitness First and Anytime fitness are able to open and only have a covid check in marshal for peak times and we are trying to determine if this could help us in some way. At this stage, all MBM and MICM managed properties have their gyms closed and the advice is that almost all residential properties in Victoria are the same.
It should be no surprise that the library and function rooms are also closed for the moment for the same reasons as the gym.

What this means for Willsmere is that as of tonight our pool, gym and library will be closed again. We ask all residents to adhere to these guidlines for the benefit of all residents.
