This weekend, July 27 & 28 from 10am to 3:30pm, Willsmere is again participating in Open House Melbourne to showcase our remarkable estate and fulfil our heritage obligations. Available to all residents and visitors will be a coffee van and a sausage sizzle / bake sale with proceeds from the latter going to our museum and the Willsmere Kitchen Garden.

Also available for sale will be a DVD showing the conversion of Willsmere in the early 90s, and the book "The Maddest Place on Earth" by Jill Giese which gives a fascinating, factual recount of Victoria's mental health system and the role of Willsmere.

The City of Boroondara has provided kids activity booklets and flyers showing what else is open nearby, such as Villa Alba Museum, Hawthorn Tram Depot, Hawthorn Arts Centre, Tay Creggan, Kew Court House, Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorn Telephone Exchange, and Boroondara General Cemetery.

It all takes place out the front. So get involved in your community, your neighbourhood, and your city!
