The Owners Corporation has been working on a solution for the intercom system malfunction and understand the frustration of residents that have been affected.
We have engaged a new contractor who is an expert in this area so that we can get this fixed shortly.
We believe we have found the issue now (and the cause) that has prevented residents from remotely opening the door at the main entrance.
It seems the relay at the master door station is failing and not able to pass power (12v/24v) to fire the door strike. The relay in the master door station can not easily be replaced. In other words, in order to rectify the issue, the master door station needs to be replaced.
The existing intercom system at Willsmere is by Urmet and due to the age of the system it has since been discontinued. We have contacted the Urmet distributor in Australia and waiting for a response for suitable options.
