As was discussed at the community meeting recently, for the first time at Willsmere (as far as we know) we are looking at a system of preventative maintenance rather than just having the vehicle gates repaired as they break down.

Every three months they will be inspected and serviced and any necessary repairs made. This should work out cheaper than the current system of ad-hoc emergency call outs as gates break down.  The first service should begin this week.

The deadbolts have been removed to be repaired. The original installation had some faults, as anyone who has been trapped inside due to a stuck deadbolt can tell you. We need to make sure the deadbolts are as reliable as possible before they are re-instated.

Jay has already made a great effort at improving the range of the remote receivers. If you still have issues with range, you should check that the antenna coil inside your remote hasn’t broken. This is a common fault as the remotes get older. Jay can help you if you aren’t sure how.

We are getting quotes for installing cameras at gates 5 & 6 as well. This should reduce the incidence of vandalism to the gates.

Of course if there are any issues with the gates, please report these via the usual channels - either Jay or the MICM helpdesk (there’s a link on the willsmere web site) if after hours. It important to report issues as we will be monitoring the process to gauge how this improves costs and reliability.
